Brenda Hetman Craig, 40 Knots Winery

When Brenda and her husband Layne first stepped on the 40 Knot’s property, they were overwhelmed by the beauty. They knew at that moment there was nowhere else in the world they wanted to be. Soon after, their daughter Alana and family were drawn to the winery and joined the team. Brenda is proud of how guests often remark on the indescribable belonging to nature they experience at 40 Knots and how the team at 40 Knots makes them feel like a family friend. Bringing years of hosting experience to the winery, Brenda anticipates your every need. Not only will 40 Knots complete your location dream, you will enjoy wines that have scored 90+ and are being recognized around the world. 40 Knots has been voted the Top Winery 3-years running, achieved Gold status for sustainability by Green Tourism and won the Chamber of Commerce Food and Farm award.

After years of exploration, Karen realized that her place belonged behind the camera as it allowed her to stand amongst the things that make her heart sing noticing details, feeling connections and in standing in awe of beautiful light. As a photographer and professional Karen brings 20 years of photojournalism, portrait and wedding experience to her craft. She is known on Vancouver Island, not just for her images and experience, but her ability to intuitively connect with people and be a joyful presence at their events.
Karen’s awards include but are not limited to consecutive wins as Comox Valley’s Best Photographer, Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year, as well as numerous photography awards and additional recognition for business leadership and community contribution.

Kathy Jerritt, Tria Fine Catering

Tell a food lover that Kathy Jerritt and her Tria team is your caterer, and you are likely to hear a sigh of envy. As one of Vancouver Island’s most sought after culinary artists, Kathy is known for exceeding expectations. In addition to her extensive training, Kathy has years of experience at high end resorts and has travelled the world exploring her craft. This experience, paired with her bubbling passion and exceptional organization, make her the master of creating food experiences that utilize Vancouver Island’s local bounty to elevate a celebration. Typically booking years in advance, Kathy has set aside dates just for Simply Celebrate events because she is so passionate about collaborations.
Kathy won a Chamber Award for Food + Farm and was recently nominated for small business of the year award.

Coleen Anderson, Relay Events

After working for Relay Events, Coleen bought the business when she realized she had found her passion. She loves keeping up with decor trends and working with clients to bring their celebrations to life in a stress-free way. Relay Events has quickly risen to the top as the go-to event rental business. The love, care and professionalism that Coleen and her team pour into events is evident in the way they guide their clients through their planning, providing experienced suggestions, and then following up to ensure that everything is as expected. Coleen has quickly become a leader in the Comox Valley business community, contributing to numerous events and organizations. She was recently recognized for her success as finalist in the customer service category at the Chamber of Commerce business awards.
